Oil Lamps and Glasses

These lamps use petroleum (or lamp oil) as fuel to create light. They have been used for centuries before the invention of electric lamps. The fuel is poured into the tank and fed by the wick that keeps the flame burning. Today, oil lamps are still used as decorative lighting sources or as emergency light sources. Fuel can be easily found in hardware stores or can be purchased online.

What oil is used for oil lamps?

For traditional oil lamps, lampante oil, also known as kerosene oil or fuel oil, is generally used. This type of oil is specially designed to be burned in oil lamps and oil candles. Lampante oil is a flammable substance and does not emit smoke or unpleasant odors when it burns, making it ideal for lighting purposes.

Be sure to use high-quality lampante oil, as low-quality oils may contain impurities that could cause dirty burning or lamp problems. Before using any oil lamp, always consult the manufacturer's instructions to ensure safe and proper use.
