The first patent for the Ministerial Lamp was filed on May 11, 1909 by Harrison D. McFaddin and they were produced and sold under the brand name Emeralite ("emerald" and "light"). The banker's lamp (or emeralite) is often used in libraries, law firms and the most prestigious offices around the world.
